The BRELLI

Hello there Mother Nature!

It looks like you are back from your vacation…

Just when we were getting used to 45+ degree weather in February.

Just when we thought we might be in the clear and done with winter.

Guess not.

Looks like that groundhog was right when he said that we could expect 6 more weeks of winter.

Oh well!

At least the snow is a nice change from the rain in winter.

I prefer snow to rain…now if only we could make some arrangement to have snow when it is above 35 degrees!

The rain that we have had recently has been brutal – super windy!

Can I tell you how many times my umbrella has been flipped inside-out?

I have been told that a solution to this problem is The BRELLI. www.thebrelli.com
The BRELLI is the perfect luxury earth friendly umbrella.  The BRELLI’S transparent canopy provides superior protection from the wind (it withstands winds up to 40 mph), rain, and sun (it provides 99% UVA/UVB/UVC protection).  Beautiful and functional, the BRELLI is a brilliant evolutionary leap forward from the conventional umbrella. It is the ultimate luxury high fashion accessory with responsibility.”
The BRELLI comes in a few great colors and patterns: there is clear, pink, grey, and the print collection. You can also buy a BRELLI from the Kid’s Collection or even the Beach Collection.

The BRELLI - GREY Collection - "The BRELLI is the perfect luxury earth friendly umbrella."  The BRELLI - PRINT Collection - "The BRELLI is the perfect luxury earth friendly umbrella."
 A Lighter Footprint
“We designed the BRELLI to biodegrade in aerobic and anaerobic landfill environments.  A discarded BRELLI will completely biodegrade in less than five years.  In an aerobic landfill it will biodegrade as twigs and leaves do.  In an anaerobic landfill it will biodegrade into biogas; this collected biogas is, more often than not, used to sustain the landfill.  The energy produced from the harvested biogas will recoup more than 90% of the energy used to create the BRELLI.”

I was telling my friend about The Brelli the other day and her first question about it being biodegradable was if it would start to biodegrade in the rain.
“Your BRELLI will not begin to biodegrade until you are ready to dispose of it.  The BRELLIX plastic used to make the canopy of your BRELLI is different from other biodegradable plastics.  It is not made from a starch based – bio plastic, which can biodegrade on a shelf.  Instead, BRELLIX is very strong and is just as durable as non-biodegradable plastic.  Therefore, it will not biodegrade in the rain, in the closet, or in the car.”

In addition to The BRELLI being biodegradable, it is also fair trade.  “We take steps to ensure that every aspect of the BRELLI production is good for the environment and for the people who make it.  Each BRELLI is handmade in a small factory in northern Thailand.  The people who make the BRELLI are true artisans who have become experts in the ancient art of parasol making the BRELLI way.   The Factory is part of a larger organization that helps artisans establish businesses in the World-market.”

I can’t wait to give The BRELLI a try in the wonderful Pittsburgh rain, but it looks like I will have to wait for it to quit snowing first. J

  1. Most establishments and malls as I have noticed have shifted to bio plastic as manufactured from plastic machining. They are much better than the conventional plastic.
