Endangered Species Chocolate

Happy President’s day!

Today was a good day – one of the benefits of working at a boring financial institution…I had the day off! J

Aside from trying to get work done with this on my lap
(yes, that’s the Miley cat AND the laptop – and I like to believe that my lap isn’t THAT big!) and trying to avoid the apple cider donuts, cheese balls, cookies, and brownies all day it was good.

Here are some highlights from my day:

I watched Ellen this morning – I’m pretty sure that is my favorite thing about getting weekdays off! I LOVE her!

I worked out and caught up on one of my guilty pleasure TV shows – The Bachelor. I still am not a big fan of him…

I had some errands to do and decided that I was too comfy in my leggings to change so I decided to just wear them out. Yeah, I’m pretty sure that I’m too old to do that!

But with that being said, I soon felt WAY better about wearing them because there was a woman that was definitely older than me by at least 10 years wearing them at the grocery store! (Ha – the small victories!)

Oh and I have already decided that no matter how old I get, I am going to continue to wear cute shoes – including high heels. There was a lady at one of the stores that was probably in her 60’s who was wearing at least 4” heels. AND skinny jeans. I couldn’t help but stare! She was certainly rocking the outfit though.

And did I mention that I also got to wear my sunglasses? YAY for a sunny day off!
*Hello there sunshine!
*And yes, that's my shadow - just
wanted to prove there was sun!

I may have told you that I was trying to avoid the cookies and brownies – well I have found something else that you might really not want to avoid. It is Endangered Species Chocolate. http://chocolatebar.com/

•We donate 10% of net profits to charitable organizations supporting  species and habitat conservation efforts in harmony with humanity.

•With on-the-ground endeavors, like Project Ecuador, we are helping empower communities in cacao growing regions.

•Endangered Species Chocolate employees are encouraged to commit a portion of their paid time to volunteerism.

•In-kind donations of chocolate are given to a variety of non-profit groups who positively support species, habitat and humanity”

On Endangered Species’ site they have a page devoted to how chocolate is good for you as well as the planet. They talk about how all of their chocolate is shade-grown and how it “supports lush forests and the species that thrive there promoting biodiversity, providing shelter for migratory birds, and combating global warming”.

If you are planning a special event – they have that covered too with their treat-sized selections that they offer.
