Weekly Wrap-up!

Happy Friday!

Another week done…time really flies when we’re having fun, doesn’t it?! Actually this week was kind of long – probably because this is going to be a 3-day weekend and I get a bonus work-from-home day next week. *Grin!  :D

Tonight was a great time though! The hubby and I went out with a friend of mine from work and her husband for the first time. We really had fun! It was a great way to wrap up the week, and I know we are looking forward to another get-together with them.

It seems that you are interested in seeing what gets me through the weeks so I think I’m going to continue with the Weekly Wrap Ups…any feedback about them would be great and very appreciated! I want you to be happy too – so please, please tell me what you like about the Shop Good – Do Good blogs. J

Here’s what I was really enjoying this week:

This nail polish (yes, I’m a girl obsessed! I've had this on my toes for about a month now and still love it - and yes, I'm in dire need of a pedicure at this point!):

My scarf is really coming along. I think at this point I might be about halfway done. There was one little mess-up, but I’m hoping it won’t be noticeable.

The movie “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”…I’ve watched it about a million times, and would watch it that many more. It might possibly catch up to “Pretty Woman”, but that might be a tough one. I can identify that movie by the single chime of the elevator – true story – I’ve done it before! (What!?!  There’s nothing wrong with that!)

Reese’s bangs – I think I’m going for it. Unless I chicken out before then…we’ll see!

And of course I’m still loving my cookies, brownies, and taffy that the hubby got for me for Valentine’s Day – they are soooo yummy!!! And the boxes they came in are so cute!

Finally, I’m really enjoying the friend that we went out with tonight. She is pregnant and the cutest pregnant woman girl gal (okay so I’m not sure how I would refer to my friends and myself…woman feels too old, girl – too young, chic – is that sexist?, babe – um, no. So I guess I’ll just go with gal!). Anyway, she keeps work fun and we all had a great time at dinner tonight!

So from pregnant we get to babies, and babies need diapers, and with diapers there are many options and choices – disposable or cloth? Brands and sizes.

To be honest the whole thing confuses me!

But I found a pretty awesome company called gDiapers.
gDiapers - gBaby Bundle

What are gDiapers?
Adorable diaper covers with environmentally friendly diaper inserts. Happy baby. Happy planet.”

gDiapers offers a few different choices – they have the diaper covers and you can choose from 100% biodegradable gRefills (“a disposable diaper that truly goes back to the earth, rather than sitting on top of it” and they are flushable)  or the gCloth (which is a “washable insert option”).

gDiapers - biodegradable gRefills case
gDiapers - gWetbag

You choose the insert, put it in the diaper cover, and snap that little bad boy on your little precious baby!

Sounds easy enough to me!

How did this all start? “One day over breakfast, Jason and Kim Graham-Nye came across an interesting fact. They found that conventional disposable diapers are the third largest contributors to landfills in the world. And yet! Only five percent of the population uses them. Crazy. It was a fact of stunning proportion met by another amazing fact: a single disposable diaper can take up to 500 years to biodegrade in the landfill.”

We could tell you about our earth friendly diapers until we’re blue in the face. But being green takes more than words. Don’t you think?”

Check out this page on their site to get more information about how gDiapers is good to the earth. A few of the highlights are that the gRefills are 100% biodegradable, they can be composted, or even flushed; they are also Cradle to Cradle certified.
gDiapers - love this baby! How cute!!!!

There are a lot of good things about gDiapers so if you are considering using diapers that are environmentally friendly, take a look at what they have to offer.

  1. we love our gdiapers. we use a diapering service, so we use the covers with the service's prefolds. works like a charm. also, when you're done with diapers, you can go to their fb page to the reselling forum and get back almost as much as you paid for your covers!

    1. Thanks for the comment! I think this is a great product - no babies yet, but someday we will be giving them a try (hopefully!). I hope you enjoy the blog!

    2. P.S. Please be sure to check out the R.W. Knudsen giveaway also! They have lots of yummy beverages! :)

  2. My husband and I are looking forward to trying out gDiapers with our second child (due in May). There are so many advantages to it! Glad they are getting more publicity.

    1. Congrats on your soon to be little one!

I love that the gDiapers are so much better for the environment and they look so easy to use! I look forward to having the opportunity to give them a try some day! Thanks for stopping by - I hope to see you again soon! (Please be sure to enter the R.W. Knudsen giveaway too.)
