Krochet Kids International

Weekly Wrap-up!

Here are this week’s likes and awesome moments:

1) Celebrating the birthday of an amazing woman – my mom!
Happy birthday Mom! I love you!!!

2) IHOP double blueberry pancakes for lunch today! Soooo good!

3) Being gone from my desk on Thursday for an hour while my boss (who is in NY) was looking for me, and then having the following conversation.
Boss: “I was looking for you.”
Me: “Okay.”
Boss: “So, what’s going on?”
Me: “Not much. What’s going on with you?”
Boss: “I mean – I was looking for you – where have you been?”
Me: “Oh, um, I was in an interview – HR didn’t tell you? I thought there were going to let you know….”
Boss: “OH! No, they didn’t tell me that.”

Yes it was awkward, and slightly hilarious! I told him a few months back that I was working on finding a new position that would be a promotion for me.  The part that made it really kind of funny was that I think he had me on speakerphone with another one of our staff members in his office at the time. OOOPSS! J

4) Starting to get fully back into my old workout routine! It feels so good to be back to my classes and beginning to feel normal again after the car accident.

5) Finally buying new workout shoes.
If I have to be honest – I haven’t bought new ones for oh…probably about 3+ years. And I wonder why my feet have been killing me! I can’t help it – I hate spending money on them!

6) My IMPECCIBLE ability to be able to pause the DVR to catch the BEST faces EVER! I seriously might start taking pictures and posting them here. But I’m not sure that anyone other than me would be entertained.

6) Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.”

Dr. Seuss from The Lorax.
We went to see The Lorax today and it was very cute. And it really had a good message that I hope people take to heart…that might be a little deeper than people took it to be, but I think that the above quote is very true.

I’m learning that there are a lot of people and companies out there that do care a whole awful lot and it has been amazing learning about them.

Another one of these great companies is Krochet Kids International.

The crocheted hats are created to help support families in Uganda and Peru.

“Today, over 150 people in Uganda and Peru are working, receiving education, and being mentored toward a brighter future.”

“Our two project locations are but microcosmic examples of what we hope to replicate throughout impoverished communities around the globe.  Join with us as we continue to spread the good word of hope and empowerment …

Their mission and vision sum up the basis of their business and how they are looking to make a change in this world:

To empower people to rise above poverty.

To create sustainable economic development programs that support holistic growth of individuals and communities within developing nations.

To inspire the knowledge of a generation about their ability to bring change to a world that is in need.”

The founders of the company probably aren’t the type that you would believe would crochet. To find out more information about how the company started and the founders go to:

It is a good story and entertaining!

In addition to the hats that they make, there is also a selection of shirts, totes, and stickers.

I know the winter season is coming to an end, but if you are looking for some cute hats – you will want to see these ones.

Just keep in mind what Dr. Seuss said.
